About Davis
Davis is located 15 miles west of Sacramento and 75 miles east of San Francisco. Davis is a university-oriented city with a vigorous community noted for its small-town style, energy conservation, progressive environmental policies, bicycles, and the quality of its educational institutions.
The mild temperate climate means enjoyment of outdoors all year long. During the hot, dry, sunny summers, temperatures on some days can exceed 100ºF; more often summer temperatures are in the low 90s. The Sacramento River Delta breezes usually cool overnight temperatures into the 60s.
Spring and fall often have some of the most pleasant weather in the state and winters are usually mild. Temperatures hardly ever drop below freezing. Our rainy season typically runs from late fall through early spring.
Wednesdays and Saturdays, Davis hosts a nationally-recognized Farmers Market, and art galleries and restaurants make downtown Davis a great place to stay. MTI is one block from downtown Davis.
